The Domecq Palace in Jerez

The Domecq Palace is the finest example of XVIII century Jerez Baroque architecture. Home since 1885 to one of the families with the longest winemaking tradition in Spain, the Domecq family.

It is the prototype of the great houses built by the aristocracy and the bourgeoisie who settled in the city. With a quadrangular floor plan, it is structured by a large central courtyard of Italian marble, and a three-storey façade with majestic balconies that give way to one of the best views of Jerez.

Its architects were Juan Díaz de la Guerra, the Sevillian Antonio Matías de Figueroa and Pedro de Cos.

Paintings, tapestries, sculptures and noble materials brought specifically from Italy, Flanders and France, frame a unique and exceptional artistic ensemble.

After a long restoration, the palace has been opened to the public. Visiting the Domecq Palace is a unique experience in Jerez de la Frontera, as there is no other palace with the characteristics of this Andalusian Baroque jewel. Within its walls, you will not only find the beauty of exceptional architecture, but also the tradition and know-how of a family that left its mark not only on the city, but also on the world of winemaking.
